Unemployment Meets Vaccine Debate

There is a push to extend unemployment benefits to the people in Wisconsin who lose their jobs because they don’t want to get the coronavirus vaccine.

A handful of Republicans last week suggested expanding benefits to cover anyone who is fired because of a vaccine mandate. The lawmakers say government shouldn’t be punishing people for making a healthcare decision. Governor Evers’ office says the governor will veto the plan if it reaches his desk.
