Heavy Rains Locally, Severe Storms Hit WI

Many people dealt with the sudden surge of rain and flash flooding here locally and we weren’t alone.

Severe thunderstorms plow through southern Wisconsin and hit Grant County with destroyed homes and other structures.

Grant County emergency officials said late last night that the storms left six homes destroyed yesterday afternoon.  County officials say a tornado touched down outside Boscobel’s city limits during the storm.  Another ten houses there were damaged along with multiple utility sheds, barns and silos in the region.   So far, there are no reports of injuries.  The National Weather Service will issue an updated storm damage report sometime today.

Several thousand utility customers get their power knocked out during yesterday’s severe weather.   We Energies reports multiple outages with several thousand clients being left in the dark across Dodge and Jefferson counties as well as in several municipalities including Watertown, Milwaukee and West Allis.
