Wisconsin’s Republican U.S. senator says he wants the same information as the Washington Post when it comes to the coronavirus.
Senator Ron Johnson on Friday sent a letter to the CDC asking for the leaked information on the delta variant that ended-up in the Post last week. Johnson says he wants to be sure that information is shared with Congress, and not just friendly reporters in Washington. Johnson says all of the information needs to be released so that the American people can be fully informed.
Away from Washington, many parents are speaking out.
Dozens of parent groups across Wisconsin are coming together to fight new mask requirements.
The groups wrote a letter to Governor Tony Evers and President Biden on Friday saying forced masking and new lockdowns or restrictions are ‘objectively cruel.’ The parents say their children do not belong to the government, and are promising to disobey any new mask orders.
Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says it is following the CDC’s latest guidelines that everyone, including those who have been vaccinated, once again wear masks to slow the spread of the delta variant.
