Details Released After Caledonia Shooting

We’re getting some new information about the man who ambushed one person and shot an undercover deputy in Caledonia.

Racine County’s sheriff yesterday said Tuesday’s gunman, 32-year-old John McCarthy, tried to carjack three people. The first was the 22-year-old man who the sheriff says McCarthy ‘executed.’ The second driver managed to drive off. The third carjacking was the attempt to steal an undercover deputy’s car. The sheriff says after the deputy shot McCarthy, McCarthy shot himself in the head rather than be arrested.
