Green Bay Bridge Malfunctions

The Department of Transportation continues to investigate the cause of a malfunction of the Mason Street Bridge in Green Bay.

Crews spent much of today trying to raise the bridge, which had been stuck at a 61-degree angle.  A 72-degree angle is considered best for the safe passage of marine traffic.  It could be weeks before the bridge is fixed and drivers are being advised to use the Walnut or Main Street Bridges downtown, the Highway 172 bridge to the South and the I-43 bridge to the north.
