It’s being seen as the first step toward a lawsuit against the city of Kenosha.
The city council on Monday unanimously voted against a 50-thousand-dollar settlement with Jacob Blake. Blake wants the city to pay him after a Kenosha officer shot him in the back during his now infamous arrest last summer. Kenosha’s city administrator John Morrissey yesterday said the settlement claim is likely the first step toward a lawsuit from Blake and his lawyers. Blake’s attorney told the city council on Monday that his medical bills alone top over 750-thousand-dollars.
