Altoona Looks at Extending Terms

City leaders in Altoona are looking to ask voters for more time on the job.

The city council is considering a referendum that would increase the terms for city council members and the mayor from two years to three. City Clerk Cindy Bauer says that would allow time for city council members to get up to speed before having to run for reelection. There’s a public meeting for the referendum in two weeks.
