100 Years of “PAWS”itive Work

The Dane County Humane Society celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The non profit’s Marketing chief Amy Good says a celebration event was held Wednesday at the Human Society property on Voges Road.  The group traces its beginnings in Dane County to Ida Kittleson who was the Madison mayor’s wife in 1921 who started an animal rescue effort.  Kittleson expanded the work to include other community members.  Amy Good says those beginnings ultimately led to the creation of what today has become the second largest animal shelter in the state.
