A Wisconsin man is dead after drowning in the Mississippi River near Dubuque over the weekend.
Police say sixty-three-year-old Mitchell Hochhausen swam out from shore to retrieve an item that drifted away from the group he was with. Reports say Mitchell was not able to make it back and he went under before anyone could get to him in a boat. He was pronounced dead at the boat landing after his body was recovered.
