Judge Refuses to Lower Bail

The Kenosha County man accused, convicted, then cleared of his wife’s death back in 1998 is going to stay in jail a little while longer.

A judge on Friday refused to lower Mark Jensen’s one-point-two million-dollar bond. Jensen was convicted in 2008 of poisoning his wife with antifreeze in 1998. But the Wisconsin Supreme Court vacated that conviction and ordered a new trial. The court ruled that prosecutors should never have used a letter from his wife that said if anything happened to her, Jensen should be the first suspect. Jensen is due back in court next month, but there’s no word on when his trial may begin.
