Election Investigation Continues

Republicans at the Wisconsin Capitol are taking their next step in trying to tighten the rules for the state’s next election.

The Senate Committee on Elections has a hearing scheduled for later today to look at proposed laws dealing with absentee ballots, voting in nursing homes, vote counting, and the relationship between local election managers and outside groups. All of the plans deal with what Republicans say were abuses from the 2020 election. While Republicans support the ideas, it’s doubtful that any of them will become law because Governor Evers has vowed not to sign any new laws that he says will make it more difficult to vote.
