Police officers, firefighters, and other first responders in Wisconsin will now have a much easier path to workers’ compensation for PTSD.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday signed a new law that eliminates the requirement that first responders prove their PTSD came from ‘unusual stress’ on the job. The new law simply requires that first responders be diagnosed with PTSD to qualify. Benefits will last for 32 weeks, and the new law caps first responders to three claims during their entire career.
