New Law Would Allow Worker’s Comp For PTSD

A new law will allow police officers and firefighters diagnosed with PTSD to receive workers’ compensation benefits.

Governor Tony Evers signed the Senate bill this morning.  It will allow payment of workman’s compensation benefits if a public safety officer is diagnosed with PTSD and the mental injury is not accompanied by a physical injury.  It also limits the liability for treatment to no more than 32 weeks.
