WI DNR Encourages Bear Safety

It’s the beginning of bear season in Wisconsin.

The state’s Department of Natural Resources says this is the time of year when bears wake-up from their winter hibernation, and they are hungry. DNR says people who live in rural and wooded areas of the state should try and avoid leaving food and garbage out for bears. DNR, as always, says feeding bears can lead to trouble for people and the bears themselves.
