Finland is the World’s happiest country for the fourth straight year.
According to the World Happiness Report, the Nordic country came out on top in a year dominated by depressing news about the COVID-19 pandemic. Denmark was second and Switzerland third. Iceland and the Netherlands round out the top five with the U.S. ranking 19th overall. The annual happiness rankings are based on how people of each country evaluate their lives and mental well-being. The report also uses data from the Gallup World Poll.
