Governor Tony Evers is all but guaranteeing that he will sign a new law ordering an overhaul at the state’s unemployment office.

The Wisconsin Senate overwhelmingly approved a plan to hire an outside company to update the computers at the Department of Workforce Development, as well as a few other tweaks. The governor says he would have preferred lawmakers just given him more money, but he said in a statement yesterday he wants to get to work at DWD. Republicans in Madison say the governor could have gotten to work months ago.
