With temperatures below zero across the Chippewa Valley, transportation officials say it’s important to take it slow.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says salt used to treat the roads takes longer to melt in temperatures 15-degrees or below. They say it’s also possible for roads to refreeze more quickly as temperatures approach zero degrees.
