Lawmakers Hit Pause

Lawmakers Hit Pause

You are going to have to keep wearing your mask in Wisconsin, at least for a little while.

Republicans in the state Assembly yesterday paused their effort to override Governor Evers’ emergency order and that includes the state’s mask mandate. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said lawmakers are trying to figure out the ramifications of an override, specifically what that will mean for 50-million dollars-a-month in enhanced food stamp money that would be lost without an emergency order. Democrats said the pause could allow for cooler heads to prevail.
