A proposed mask mandate in Eau Claire County could be met with a 200-dollar fine if violated.
The Eau Claire City-County Health Department says the ordinance is nearly the same as the state-level mandate, although businesses would be required to put up signage stating that face coverings are required for entry.
The County Board will conduct a first reading of the ordinance next Tuesday and the City Council will have a first reading at the end of the month. Both boards will vote on the ordinance in mid-February.
