The winner of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, the United Nations’ World Food Programme, has officially received their award.
The prize, a medal and a diploma, was handed over to WFP Executive Director David Beasley yesterday in a ceremony that looked much different than it has in years past due to the pandemic. He accepted the award and delivered this warning:
The Nobel committee awarded the peace prize to the WFP back in October for its efforts to combat hunger, its contribution to “bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas,” and for its efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict.
The World Food Programme provides food to over 90-million people each year. YOU CAN LEARN MORE WITH A CLICK HERE.
