Fire officials across Wisconsin remind people that festive decorations can bring dangerous hazards into a home.
Emergency management administrators urge people to take simple precautions that can reduce fire risk during the holiday season. Live Christmas trees can catch fire in seconds and artificial trees might be flame resistant but that doesn’t mean fire proof.
Officials advise not to link more than three light strands together, check smoke alarms to make sure they are working properly and remember to never leave a burning candle unattended.
