The tens-of-thousands of people who’ve been waiting months for their unemployment check could see something by the end of the year.
Department of Workforce Development Interim Secretary Amy Pechacek said on Capital City Sunday that she hopes to erase the state’s unemployment backlog in a matter of weeks, not months. Some people have been waiting since March to have their claim processes, others have been waiting months to get paid.
DWD’s numbers from last week show 70 thousand people are waiting to be paid in Wisconsin, and another 530 thousand are waiting to have their claims processed. CLICK HERE FOR MORE FROM DWD.
