The former West Allis police officer who admitted to killing two women and stuffing their bodies into suitcases can continue to fight his guilty plea.
A judge this week said Steven Zelich can try and withdraw one of his pleas. Zelich pleaded guilty in 2016 to choking 19-year-old Jenny Gamez to death, then trying to hide her body. He agreed to a reckless homicide plea. He now wants to withdraw that plea. Zelich is also serving time for a similar case in Minnesota.
