WI Sees Medical Staff Shortage

Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services say one in five hospitals in the state need doctors and nurses.

DHS yesterday said there is a critical staffing shortage at 20-percent of hospitals across the state. Not having enough doctors or nurses on staff means the doctors and nurses who are working are working much more than usual. DHS Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk says hospitals are now looking to bring people in from out of state to fill in.
