The legal fight against Wauwatosa Police Officer Joseph Mensah is not over.
The attorney for Alvin Cole’s family yesterday said she plans to file a civil rights complaint against Mensah. Attorney Kimberley Motley says she wants to show that the Wauwatosa Police Department is racist, and that racism played a role in Mensah’s decision to shoot Cole back in February. Both Cole and Mensah are black. Prosecutors in Milwaukee this week said Mensah shot Cole because Cole had a gun and fired it.
