A shortened Badger football season will not save UW Athletics from losing tens of millions of dollars.
UW’s athletic CFO Adam Barnes said on Wednesday they will likely lose between 60 million and 70 million dollars this year. The expectation was that, without football, UW Athletics would lose 100 million-dollars. In addition to no ticket sales, Barnes said fewer football games will mean a lot less money from TV. That will be a huge loss.
