A crash sends one man to the hospital.
It was on Tuesday September 22nd, the Buffalo County Sheriffs Office received a report of a motorcycle vs SUV crash on CTH M a few miles north of STH 35. It was reported that the motorcycle operator did sustain injuries, but at the time it was unknown how severe.
Based on the crash investigation 46 year old Joshua Cichy was traveling northbound on CTH M on a 2018 Kawasaki Vulcan and 42 year old Yobahn Barragan-Sotelo was southbound with his child in a 2011 Toyota FJ Crusier. The two met on a hill and curve in the roadway when the two collided causing Cichy to go airborne off the motorcycle, he landed in the northbound ditch. Based on the evidence at the scene, Cichy was traveling faster than the posted speed limit and was left of center when the two vehicles met. Due to the hill and corner in the roadway, it’s believed that both operators did not have enough reaction time to avoid the collision.
Cichy was transported by air ambulance to Gundersen Lutheran hospital for further medical treatment. Barragan-Sotelo and his child did not suffer any injuries.
