On September 16 th a bit after 10PM. The Buffalo County Dispatch received a 911 call advising of a one vehicle accident along STH 35 in which a 2016 Jeep Cherokee was upside down just north of the US Corps of Engineers Boatyard in Fountain City.
Upon arrival of deputies and first responders, a white colored 2016 Üeep Cherokee was located upside down and the lone occupant 32 year old Williarn Daubs wag found trapped underneath the vehicle . All life saving measures where attempted, but Williarn wag pronounced deceased at the crash scene . During the investigation it was found that William had been traveling south on Highway 35 when he left the roadway and attempted to re-enter the roadway.
The vehicle that William was operating rolled in an end to end manner coming to a rest on it’s roof. William was partially ejected from the vehicle, with the vehicle landing on top of him. William was not wearing his seat belt. Traffic in STH 35 and Burlington Northern Santa Fe train traffic were both stopped while emergency crews worked. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
