Wisconsin’s largest business group says it is 100 percent behind a plan to prevent businesses from being sued over the coronavirus.
Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce yesterday said the legislation from state Senator Chris Kapenga to protect businesses, non-profits, schools, and others from coronavirus lawsuits is common sense. Kapenga’s proposal would exempt businesses and others from what he calls ‘frivolous’ lawsuits, as long as they abide by local coronavirus safety rules and common sense best practices. It could be a while before the legislation goes anywhere. Lawmakers in Madison are done for the year.
