The Wausau School District is moving forward with fall sports after the school board voted in its favor yesterday.
The district superintendent says he wasn’t entirely happy with the move as he doesn’t want quarantines and closures from sports to minimize their opportunity to come back because everyone wants kids back in school. He added that there is nothing wrong with sports, it’s about mitigating the risks around the pandemic. Next the board will discuss the topic of spectators, but for now, high-risk sports such as football, volleyball and swimming can start practices on September 7th.
