A six-year-old is giving out gift baskets to classmates from low-income families for her birthday.
Brynlee Simler asked for donations of school supplies instead of personal gifts and boxes just kept showing up on her family’s doorstep. She filled 22 backpacks with pencils, notebooks, folders and 50-dollar gift cards so kids could get new clothes and shoes.
She even wrote notes, like “You’re awesome, you are amazing, you have a good heart,” and stuck them inside. She’s giving them to classmates at her school, C.H. Bird Elementary School in Sun Prairie.
