A deer is the cause of a motorcycle crash heading into the weekend. It was on Friday, July 17th, just after 8 in the evening when the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office took report of a motorcycle crash in the Township of Waumandee.

Upon arrival of the emergency units, the male party involved in the crash, Scott J. Ritter, of Florida, was lying injured in the middle of the roadway. Law Enforcement was informed by a witness, Matthew P Holmgreen, of Eau Claire, that he and Scott were traveling westbound on County Road E near Wojchik Valley Road when a deer ran out of the ditch and directly into the side of Scott.

Matthew advised that Scott was immediately thrown from the motorcycle he was operating, and that the motorcycle skid on its side down the roadway until it came to rest on the eastbound shoulder. Scott was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries.
