There is, once again, a cap on the number of people who can be inside a bar, a restaurant, or a business in Eau Claire County. City-county health director Lieske Giese yesterday issued a new order that requires businesses to limit their customers to 50 percent of capacity.

Large gatherings, whether inside or outside, are still allowed. Though Giese says they are not recommended. The new order comes as positive coronavirus tests in the county are going-up.

More counties across Wisconsin are reporting more coronavirus cases, but the virus continues to be a bigger problem in Milwaukee and Madison.
The latest numbers from the state’s Department of Health Services show that 47 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties now have ‘high coronavirus activity.’ About a month ago, it was 19 counties. The biggest jumps in coronavirus numbers are in Milwaukee and Dane counties. DHS reported 598 new positive tests yesterday, and there were over 10-thousand negative tests.
