Western Wisconsin Congressman Ron Kind’s plan to have the federal government buy more milk has a name.
The congressman yesterday officially introduced the Family Farm Rescue Plan. Kind says the idea is to have the USDA buy as much unsold milk as it can, then give that milk away through food banks and other government programs. He also wants to see other price support programs brought back, and Kind said the country needs to finalize the trade deal with Canada and Mexico.
Kind says family farms are the backbone of Wisconsin, and cannot be allowed to fail.
