WITHERS

His family said he died from heart complications.  The 81-year-old soul singer had big hits with “Lean On Me” and “Ain’t No Sunshine” during the 1970s and ’80s.  He was nominated for nine Grammys and won three times.  The third song that won him music’s top honor was “Just The Two Of Us.”  He was born in West Virginia and joined the Navy when he was 17.

After he left the Navy, he moved to Los Angeles to begin his music career.  He released his first album in 1971.

Soon we will be able to dance together again. ..in the sunshine.
