City clerks in La Crosse are taking extra precautions to limit the spread of coronavirus as voter registration and absentee-voting takes place this week at City Hall.
Officials say no more than ten people are allowed in a room at one time, stations have been separated to comply with social distancing, and tape on the floor keeps people six-feet apart. Each person is also given a new pen to take with them to the booth and hand sanitizer in the beginning, middle, and end of the fifteen-minute process.
The city is recommending residents request an absentee ballot in the mail instead of going to the polls on April 12th. The deadline for an absentee ballot is April 2nd.
