Dane County is reporting its first coronavirus related death. The Public Health Department announced today the patient was in their late 70s but no other information was released. Officials say the statewide death total from COVID-19 is now seven.
In another part of our state, the City of Janesville is declaring a state of emergency. The city manager said today it’s time to implement the declaration in response to the spread of the coronavirus in Wisconsin. Three people in Janesville have tested positive for the virus. The state of emergency will give the city the flexibility to make time-sensitive decisions and it also makes state and federal assistance available.
