MURDER SUSPECT FACING CHARGES OVER A DECADE LATER

A suspect faces murder charges in the decade old homicide of a UW-Madison student. Yesterday,

NBC15 reported that 53-year old David Kahl is charged with first degree intentional homicide in the death of then 21-year old Brittany Zimmerman.  On April of 2008 the UW Medical Microbiology and Immunology student was stabbed to death in her apartment on Doty Street.  The report says Madison Police investigators interviewed Kahl several times over the years.

Modern technology made the difference as they were able to finally use matching DNA evidence from Kahl found on several of  Zimmerman’s articles of clothing to help solve the case.
