GOV. EVERS SIGNS BODY CAM LAW

GOV. EVERS SIGNS BODY CAM LAW

Governor Tony Evers signs off on new police body camera regulations.

The new law won’t force police agencies to use body cameras, but it does add requirements for those that do.  Under the law,  police departments must hold on to all body camera footage for at least 120 day, and longer in critical cases.

The regulation also says body cam footage can be released under the open records law.
