The first part of Eau Claire’s plan to go carbon-neutral comes with a nearly one-million-dollar price tag.
City leaders yesterday said they’d like to see 160 electric car charging stations installed across Eau Claire in the next ten years. Right now, less than one-percent of the people who live in Eau Claire drive an electric car. Each charging station costs as much as five-thousand-dollars. One hundred sixty of them would cost 800-thousand-dollars. There’s no word on where that money would come from.
