People across Wisconsin may soon get more notice when a serious criminal is about to be released into their communities.
A group of lawmakers in Madison is pushing a plan to notify local police and local schools anytime someone convicted of homicide, sexual assault, incest with a child and child enticement is released from prison.
The notification would include where the former inmate would live, work, and/or go to school. Wisconsin has a similar system for notifying neighbors anytime a sex offender is being released from prison.
