NEW BILL AIMS TO EASE VOTING

Governor Tony Evers signs a bill that should make it easier for some disabled people to vote.

The new law removes requirements for voters to have to verbally state their name and address before casting a ballot in Wisconsin.  Now voters can use their ID and a person accompanying them can say their name and address on their behalf.

During last year’s general elections, some deaf and developmentally disabled voters complained that they ran into problems at polling locations because of the old requirements.
