HIGH SPEED CHASE LEADS TO ARREST OF HOLCOMB WOMAN

On Saturday, October 26th, 2019, a bit before midnight., Sgt. Sokup, and Officer Reinke, received a report from dispatch of a female subject that was acting irrational and appeared to be under the influence of drugs in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

When officers approached the vehicle, it took off through the parking lot and continued to accelerate onto Commercial Blvd. and then west bound on Cty Hwy OO. The vehicle extinguished its headlights while westbound on Cty Hwy OO and went northbound onto Hwy 124 from Cty Hwy OO and accelerated to speeds between 90 and 93 miles per hour and continued to drive recklessly as it was swerving in and out of the left and right lanes of traffic.

City of Chippewa Falls Police officers attempted to deploy road spikes at Hwy 124 and Woodward Avenue, but the female evaded them and continued to drive northbound and took the Business 29 exit ramp where
she lost control of her vehicle and spun out, hitting the curb.

The female subject then exited the vehicle and fled on foot southbound into a wooded area on top of the hill. Officer Reinke was able to catch up with the female subject. She did not listen to the officers initially and resisted being handcuffed. The female was identified as 28 year old Brandolyn A. Charles, of Holcombe. Charles was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls for the OWI investigation. Afterwards she was turned over to the Chippewa County Jail for booking purposes on the following charges: Fleeing an Officer, Reckless Driving, Operating while under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, Probation violation and other minor traffic violations.
