A wanted man from Portage County will go to prison for decades after being found hiding from police in a bunker for three years.
Jeremiah Button had been wanted since 2016 for not showing up to a court appearance on multiple sex charges. Button’s lawyer says he initially went into the woods to try to punish himself and slowly die.
He was sentenced Thursday to 30 years in prison followed by 30 years of extended supervision.
