Governor Tony Evers says it’s time to end the gun violence, but two people are standing in the way of allowing a vote to happen.
The governor says it’s time for the Republican leaders to allow a vote on the bill. Evers says the vast majority of Wisconsinites are demanding expanded background checks. Gun control advocate and State Senator Latonya Johnson says 80-percent of residents want expanded background checks and the lack of action by Republican lawmakers means kids and families will continue to live in fear for their safety.
