WI LIFE EXPECTANCY DECLINES AGAIN

The life expectancy in Wisconsin continues to decline.

Data released today by the Wisconsin Policy Forum shows a decline for the second straight year, which mirrors a national trend.  The life expectancy for Wisconsin babies born from 2015 to 2017 is 80 years, down slightly from 2014 to 2016.  The Policy Forum says there was a concerning rise in the rate of deaths due to alcohol especially among black residents and for people in their 20s and 30s due to opioids.
