The new Miss Black USA hails from Madison.
Former Miss Black Wisconsin Tekema Balentine took the title home from the competition in Washington, DC this weekend. In addition to the crown, Balentine won scholarship money. She is currently pursuing a nursing degree at Madison College and is a coach for Madison East track and field.
