There likely won’t be new Amtrak trains rumbling through western Wisconsin anytime soon.
Lawmakers in Minnesota didn’t include the money to foot the bill for a new Minneapolis to Chicago train line in their new state budget. Wisconsin lawmakers approved 300-thousand-dollars this year for environmental studies for the line. The full project has a price tag between 130 million and 140-million-dollars.
