UW PRESIDENT PUSHES FOR CAMPUS MAKEOVER

The head of the University of Wisconsin is trying to convince lawmakers to start a building boom on campus.

UW System President Ray Cross yesterday told reporters that the university needs better buildings to attract top professors.  Cross says more than half of the buildings at UW Madison are over 40-years-old.  Governor Evers proposed a billion-dollar building program for the UW System, but Republican lawmakers have balked at that price tag.
