WAUSAU WOMAN ACCUSED OF KILLING BABY WILL STAND TRIAL

A Wausau babysitter accused of killing a two-month-old baby boy will stand trial.

Marissa Tietsort

On Friday, a Wisconsin judge said there’s enough evidence to proceed with the homicide case.  Marissa Tietsort admitted to placing the dead baby in his car seat and returning him to his mother last October.  She said the boy died in her care, but that she didn’t kill him.

Court documents say the child’s cause of death was blunt force head injuries and he also had a fractured tailbone, signifying a high level of force was used.  Tietsort has also been charged with child abuse from previous cases.  The pregnant 28-year-old remains behind bars on a 500-thousand-dollar cash bond.  She’s pregnant with her sixth child.
